Tara King joined AAAS as the Center Coordinator of the S-STEM REC in December 2022. Tara has over ten years of experience managing educational transformation and student success projects in higher education. She previously worked at the Association of American Universities (AAU) where she helped to develop and execute multiple grant-funded systemic change efforts that engaged member campuses and other national stakeholders in AAU’s Undergraduate STEM and PhD Education Initiatives. She also contributed to broadening participation in STEM during her time at the University of Delaware and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (NACME). Tara was the first in her family to attend college and a Pell Grant recipient. She is passionate about ensuring all students are able to pursue their interests and reach their full potential in STEM. Tara earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and M.A. in Education degrees from the University of Delaware; and her M.A.T. and B.S. degrees in Physics from Stony Brook University.
