Join us on November 4 at 3:00 PM EST for an interactive, fast-paced session designed to help S-STEM Scholars master the emerging AI frontier by pairing cutting-edge tools with rigorous ethical boundaries. This workshop goes beyond general chatbots to explore “academic-grade” assistive technologies through high-energy Kahoot challenges and insights from peer experts within the S-STEM community. S-STEM Scholar Scott McCloskey will share practical study and agentic coding workflows based on his federal internship and research experiences at the Berkeley Lab, while Crystal Brown addresses the essential ethical “do-nots” and the dangers of academic probation. To wrap up, Roseline Telfort, PhD, will analyze how university enterprise systems detect plagiarism, address data privacy concerns, and consider the broader societal and workforce implications of AI.
