Our invited speaker, Dr. Yao Yang, discussed the 2024 article Dr. Yang and four other colleagues wrote on a study they conducted using the Clance Imposter Syndrome Scale (CIPS). She also discussed applying structural equation modeling on data collected through CIPS and two other measures–the Achievement Goal Questionnaire-Revised (AGQ-R) and the Brief Symptom Inventory–they examined the mediating role that impostor syndrome has between achievement orientations and psychological distress among female undergraduate students in STEM fields.
