Amy Richardson, PhD, is an engineering education researcher whose career spans academic leadership, grant management, and student mentorship across multiple institutions. She currently serves as a Research Scientist in Engineering Education at Virginia Tech, where she investigates intra- and inter-institutional partnerships, transfer pathways, and STEM student success. Amy previously held faculty and administrative roles at Northern Virginia Community College, including Assistant Dean of Engineering, fostering transfer partnerships with major universities and advising hundreds of students each semester. She is recognized for her expertise in leading large-scale STEM initiatives, notably directing both the S-STEM program at Northern Virginia Community College and the ROPES Hub (an NSF-funded S-STEM Hub) focused on organizational partnerships and institutional change. Amy strives to bridge her teaching experience with her research in order to ask and answer critical questions that ultimately support and empower students in their academic journey.
