Ashley Burkart (she/her) is a passionate STEM educator currently serving as Residential Biology Faculty at Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, Arizona. She holds a Masters in Biomedical Science from Midwestern University and has been an active member of the National Association of Biology Teachers. As a content writer for AZ PBS, Ashley shares valuable resources and insights related to supporting scholars pursuing STEM careers.
She envisions a future of STEM education that prioritizes scientific literacy and utilizes scientific evidence to make informed decisions. By linking scientific principles to real-life applications, Ashley believes scholars can develop a profound appreciation for science in their daily lives. She is committed to creating an educational environment that empowers scholars, encourages exploration, critical thinking, and the practical application of STEM knowledge.
This marks Ashley’s first experience with the S-STEM program/S-STEM REC, and she is very eager to contribute to and learn from this incredible community. She looks forward to the new perspectives and insights this experience will offer as she delves into this enriching opportunity.
