Dr. Brandon Mitchell, Professor of Physics, is the Director of the WCU S-STEM Program: Nanoscience in Health and Technology and the Director of WCU’s Center for STEM Inclusion, where he leads a STEM education ecosystem in Southeastern Pennsylvania connecting schools, non-profits, industry, and higher education institutions. He also studies rare earth-doped semiconductors for next-generation micro-LED displays and quantum technologies. This research specifically focuses on Er-doped GaAs for electrically-pumped single-photon emitters in Telecom C-band, and Eu-doped GaN for quantum sensing in noisy environments.
