Candice Price

Candice Price is an Associate Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Smith College. Her primary area of mathematical research is DNA topology. Additionally, Candice taught in the EDGE Summer Program from 2019 to 2021. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from California State University, Chico, a Master’s from San Francisco State University, and a PhD from the University of Iowa. She was recently named the Spelman College COE-MWS Falconer Scholar for the 2022-2023 academic year.

 

She is a co-founder of Mathematically Gifted and Black, and winner of the Association for Women in Mathematics’ 2022 AWM Presidential Recognition Award. Candice is also the co-founder of the Underrepresented Students in Topology and Algebra Research, the CEO of the publishing company 619 Wreath LLC, and the co-author of the book “Radical Grace: Essays and Conversations on Teaching.”
