Dr. Pfeiffer has been teaching chemistry for 28 years, 20 of which have been at Century College, a community and technical college in Minnesota. She received the Outstanding Faculty award at Century in 2010 and Phi Theta Kappa Golden Apple Awards in 2009 and 2015. In addition to teaching, Dr. Pfeiffer has a passion for providing students with professional development and research opportunities and for helping them successfully transfer to a university to complete their bachelor’s degrees. She has been involved in an NSF GOALI grant and an HHMI grant with Hamline University and was a faculty sponsor for several Century students who participated in the Mayo IMPACT Program. Currently, Dr. Pfeiffer is Century’s site coordinator for the Louis Stokes North Star STEM Alliance, a co-PI for the PRISM S-STEM grant, and involved in both the PROSPECT and INTuitN S-STEM hubs. She has also been active in the MN Section of the American Chemical Society since 1999, serving in many roles. Dr. Pfeiffer received her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her BA in Chemistry at the College of Saint Benedict. She enjoys the outdoors and is an aerobics instructor, birder, and Minnesota Master Naturalist.
