Leanne Davis, M.A. (she/her) is a Managing Researcher in Applied Research and Equitable Evaluation at Education Northwest where she leads research and evaluation projects related to postsecondary access and success and provides technical assistance to postsecondary institutions and systems. She is currently co-principal investigator of a National Science Foundation Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S-STEM) Research Hub, INTuitN STEM, focused on STEM affordability and exploring non-tuition barriers for community college students from low-income backgrounds. Leanne’s background and expertise is in working at the intersection of research, policy, and practice. Previously, she led applied research projects and national initiatives to increase equitable access to and success in postsecondary education at The Hope Center at Temple University and the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). Prior to that, she spent nearly ten years as a college counselor.
Leanne is currently a Ph.D. student in higher education at the University of Washington, researching issues of access and equity during transitions in the educational pipeline and how policies and practices help or hinder a student’s ability to complete a postsecondary credential. She earned a B.S. degree at the United States Naval Academy and served as a Naval Aviator, flying CH-46 helicopters.
