Matthew Voigt (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Engineering and Science Education at Clemson University. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Science Education from San Diego State University and the University of California – San Diego. His research interests examine inclusive STEM education, active learning, systemic change, gender & sexuality, and equity. Voigt’s research has focused on developing and evaluating innovative teaching and learning practices that promote equity and student success in STEM using qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods approaches. He has published extensively on topics such as active learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and the use of technology to support STEM learning. He is a proud first-generation college students and queer education researcher. He grew up in a rural farming community in central Minnesota, and is trying to visit every U.S. National Park.
