Nicole Ramo is an assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering at West Chester University of Pennsylvania serving as a co-PI on the institution’s S-STEM award (“Increasing the Persistence of STEM Majors through Nanoscience-Themed Activities that Support Academic, Professional, and Personal Engagement and Development”). Leading focus groups with the S-STEM scholars, she tries to identify and lessen barriers to their success as future engineers, scientists, and leaders. With a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering from Colorado State University followed by an instructional post-doctoral fellowship at The University of Michigan, her research interests include soft tissue biomechanics and biomedical engineering education.
