Tina Cheuk

Tina Cheuk is an associate professor in the School of Education at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her research focuses on higher education access, science and bilingual education, and policies that advance student success and family thriving. She is a co-principal investigator on a current S-STEM grant examining how student parents navigate engineering and computer science pathways. The project identifies barriers and supports, explores strengths-based approaches, and informs STEM policies and practices that better serve parenting students. Cheuk serves on the advisory board of the California Alliance for Student Parent Success and is a committee member of the California State University Pregnant and Parenting Student Initiative. She is also featured as an expert in Raising Up, a documentary about parenting students. Cheuk holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Education Policy from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Chicago.
