First-Year Experience EBP Repository

Description: The first-year college experience refers to the transition period for students entering higher education, encompassing their academic, social, and personal adjustments. It includes various challenges, such as adapting to a new learning environment, managing increased academic demands, and forming relationships with peers and faculty. Many institutions implement programs and support services to help first-year students navigate these changes, aiming to enhance their engagement, satisfaction, and retention. A positive first-year experience is crucial for setting the foundation for academic success and overall college retention.

The REC website now houses a database of measures/tools and instruments for Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs).

To locate the additional databases, go to the “Resources” page on the REC website and click on the “Evidence-Based Practices” Resource Type on the side bar. You can browse through the list of EBPs relevant to your project.
